Hello all!! Today is another day for a 2 Sketches 4 You Sketch and card. The sponsor this week is Sukara of America and I gotta say I really love the bright and glossy colors their glaze pens added to my card. I drew the clouds with a black glaze pen and then cut around the outline. The flowers are colored in with those fab glaze bright colors. Now let's talk about Kazan's sketch...so fun! I am always amazed at the versatility of these sketches. I flipped this one and used the clouds as my scalloped element. These sketches are always great just as they are and always great if you want to add a little individuality, too. Come play along at 2 Sketches 4 You.
* Make note that we are having a super fun blog hop at 2 Sketches 4 You on Saturday to celebrate World Card Making Day. Lots of fun and prizes so make sure you check in on Saturday to check it out!!!
**I've added a couple of new features to my sidebar...a daily quote and a tender mercy moment. If you are in need of a little uplift I hope these might help you. I have found them uplifting to me and so I thought I would share with all of you. Hugs, Cheryl
This card is for my sweet Amanda. She truly is the "apple of my eye" and of my heart. Just the right amount of sweetness, but just the right amount of tang, too. Fresh and crisp in all she does. She leaves on Wednesday to start serving her mission for our church. I will not see her for the next 18 months. I will receive emails once a week from her and she can phone home on Christmas and Mother's Day. I will miss her like crazy, but am so proud of her choice to serve the Lord in this way. The personal sacrifices she is making to do this are amazing. She will be a light to the people of Paraguay and I know they will experience joy for being in her company just as we do. I want her to know these words that Christopher Robin spoke to Pooh, "You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." We love you so much our dear Amanda. God bless you and watch over you and know that your family loves you and is thinking of you and praying for you at all times. Thank you to Creative Cuts and More the sponsor this week for their cuter than cute cut out apple card base and to Laura for her fabulous sketch.
I hope this post finds you smiling today! I know I am...I got to work with the wonderful stamp set from Flourishes the sponsors at 2 Sketches 4 You this week. You may have noticed that a stamper I am not. I'm relatively new at card making and brand new to stamping. Scrapbooking los was my background before I started making cards. These Flourish stamps are changing that...I just might be a stamper yet. They are soooooooooo EASY to use. They hold the ink perfectly and even a novice like me can get a great print EVERY time. I was so amazed. I just loved my yummy strawberry set. It reminded me of a homemade jar of strawberry jam...so home-y and warm and delish! You are definitely going to want to play over at 2 Sketches 4 You this week for a chance to win some for yourself. You are going to love Kazan's sketch, too! So if you weren't smiling before I hope you have a smile on your face now. Hugs, Cheryl
I have many reasons to "Cherish Today". I hope you all do as well. One reason I have is that I found my sister after she had been missing for 27 years. My dad will be turning 90 in three weeks and we so wanted to find her before that occasion. We have tried many times in the past and vowed we would never give up. What a wonderful feeling to find her after all this time and to find all is good in her life. Her, my dad, my brothers and I were able to meet with her last week. To see my dad with her was a joy beyond compare. Cherish today...cherish your families...cherish your life. These are the things I'm celebrating with this card. Thank you to Laura at 2 Sketches 4 You for the wonderful sketch this week and to Scor-itfor being our sponsors. I just love this fabulous tool!
“Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he’s been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to just be people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old time rail journey…delays…sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling burst of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.” ― Gordon B. Hinckley
